Foli
An AI notes app that answers from your own notes
Foli works with the notes you can already open. Ask it a question and it answers with links to the notes it used. Select a paragraph to rewrite, shorten or translate it, turn a meeting into to-dos, draw a flowchart from a sentence, or ask it to sum up the whole note.
Free, Pro and Pro AI, and the 7-day trial. Core has no AI.

Ask your notes a question
Press ⌘J anywhere outside a note, or pick Ask Foli about your notes in the ⌘K palette. Foli answers from the open note, or from notes it finds by searching the ones you can read. Each answer lists its sources, so you can open the note and check. Answers appear word by word, and you can ask a follow-up in the same chat.
From a folder’s menu, Ask Foli about this folder keeps the answers inside that folder. If your notes don’t have the answer, it says so before it gives a general one. It only reads notes you already have access to: in a workspace, pages that are restricted from you stay out of its answers.
Edit what you’ve selected
Select a sentence or a whole section and press ⌘J, or use the AI button in the selection toolbar or Ask Foli… in a block’s handle menu. The composer opens under the text with these actions:
- Improve writing, or fix spelling and grammar only.
- Make it shorter or longer, simplify the language, or make it sound professional or casual.
- Translate into one of 15 languages, from English and Spanish to Bengali, Japanese and Arabic.
- Explain the text, or summarize it.
Or type your own instruction, like “turn this into a numbered list”. The result appears word by word, and you can press Stop at any time. Then Replace the selection, Insert below to keep both, Try again, or tweak it with one click: Shorter, Longer, Simpler, More formal or More casual.
Write with AI
On an empty line, type / and pick an AI item, or press ⌘J. It uses the note you’re in as context:
- Continue writing from where you stopped.
- Summarize this note, or make an outline of it.
- Find action items: they’re written as real to-dos, so they show up in Tasks.
- Brainstorm ideas, or write anything you ask for, like “a friendly intro paragraph”.
The AI panel in a note’s dock has the same tools, plus Ask for questions about the note.
Titles
Select words in a title and an Edit with AI button appears (or press ⌘J). It can suggest a new title from what the note says, or improve, fix, shorten or change the tone of the one you have. An untitled note with some text in it offers Suggest a title on its own.
Flowcharts from a sentence
In a flowchart block, describe a process and the AI draws the shapes, decisions and arrows and lays them out. Change it in words, like “add an approval step after review”, and undo the whole change with ⌘Z. See flowcharts.
Catch me up
On Home, Catch me up writes a short brief of your week: what changed in the notes you worked on and the tasks due next, with links to the notes it mentions.
AI credits
AI use is counted in credits, and a credit is one cent of what the AI costs to run. Each request is charged for what it actually uses: a short rewrite is usually 1 credit, and a question to Foli or a new flowchart usually 3 to 5. Before a request starts, Folevi sets a few credits aside so it can finish, and gives back what it didn’t use.
- Free: 25 credits a month.
- Pro: 180 credits a month, for $4.99 a month.
- Pro AI: unlimited AI with fair use (550 credits a month), for $12.99 a month.
- Core: no AI at all, for $1.99 a month.
New accounts get Pro AI free for 7 days with 100 credits. On Pro and Pro AI you can buy a pack of 500 or 1,000 credits that lasts 12 months. See pricing.
What happens to your notes
When you use the AI, your request and the notes it needs go to Google Gemini. Google doesn’t use them to train its models, and neither does Folevi. You can turn Foli off in Settings; while it’s off, none of your notes are sent. On Core, the server refuses every AI request. More on the Privacy page.

Foli and creditsQuestions
- Which Folevi plans include AI?
- Free (25 AI credits a month), Pro (180 a month) and Pro AI (unlimited with fair use, 550 a month). The 7-day trial includes 100 credits. Core has no AI.
- What is an AI credit?
- One cent of what the AI costs to run. Each request is charged for what it actually uses: a short rewrite is usually 1 credit, and a question to Foli or a new flowchart usually 3 to 5. A request needs a few credits free before it starts.
- Can the AI see notes I don’t have access to?
- No. Foli answers from the open note or from notes it finds by searching the ones you can already read.
- Can I turn the AI off?
- Yes. Turn Foli off in Settings at any time. While it’s off, none of your notes are sent to it.
- Does Folevi use my notes to train AI?
- No. Folevi doesn’t use your notes to train AI models, and Google doesn’t use requests to its paid Gemini API for training either.
- How does AI work in a team workspace?
- In a paid workspace, each member has the plan’s AI credits there. In a free workspace, and as a guest, you use your own personal credits. In a Core workspace nobody can use AI.
